Log Presentation

Mat started off the class reading “Blood” by Naomi Shihab Nye.

You’d think that since Rosie was absent we wouldn’t have a log but thankfully she’s a good student and posted it on blackboard! James was kind enough to volunteer to read.

Like she was supposed to, Katherine presented her genre presentation on English sonnets, giving the class one more genre to possibly remix their final project into. We learned that English sonnets are 14 line poems with 10 syllables per line, with each line following the iambic pentameter (an unstressed syllable followed by a stressed one), the last two stanzas are couplets, and the rhyme scheme is AA,BB,CC,DD,EE,FF,GG.

Of course, Mat made us actually use our brains by asking us “what place does poetry have in any community?”

Gracias a Alize, for giving a wonderful response to Mat’s question, something along the lines of, poetry being the way that cultures communicate with one another and within their community.

Psa!!!!! Don’t forget to do your short assignment #3!!!! It’s due by 6am on Tuesday, October 25th!!!!! (Also a 100-word rough draft for short assignment #3 due by 6am on Monday October 24th!!! You will be marked absent for Thursday’s cancelled class if you don’t)

Read and remix for the MHH was discussed, lead by Mat, but really we just saw how great Dayna is at making cook graphs.

Everyone learned how to us academic research.

So anybody who wasn’t in class might be bummed because they didn’t learn how to use academic research……

Except wait! You don’t have to be because Mat wrote notes and put them on blackboard for all to see.

Not only did Mat touch on how to use academic research he also talked about on the ground research and how to evaluate your sources.

The remainder of the class was spent with everyone in small groups discussing their sources and evaluating their potential contribution to that person’s essay.

And

That’s

It…

Okay…

Now!
