Project Two: Reflection

At the start of this project I was a mess and was completely misguided on what I was going to write about. I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to research and talk about. Mat helped me figure out my exigence but I was still lost on what exactly I’d be talking about. It was not until I started doing short assignment one that I realized what I could talk about. All of my research centered around the same general idea. This idea was the decision-making process sexual assault prosecutors use to decide whether or not they would charge someone and try their case. Although I narrowed the scope of my topic I was still confused and unsure of how to continue my paper. Office hours saved my life because that’s where that one-on-one time with Mat really helped cement my topic and what structure I needed to continue. It was harder for me to figure what structure I needed because the topic I was trying to tackle was exponentially different than that of most of my classmates. The next obstacle I needed to get over was my procrastination and laziness that were prohibiting me from completing my paper. 2500 words was a scary task for me, I had never written that much for one paper and I was nervous about whether or not I could finish it on time. I was really proud of myself for finishing this paper and the lack of tears that came along with completing it.
